My name is Alison Jones, I’m 58 years old. I live in Swansea. I have three brothers. My mother lives in Magan and I have two very boisterous dogs, both golden retrievers named Jessie and Skye.
I attend many classes, including English, Math and Computers as well as numerous dance and fitness classes.
Since moving to Swansea, I met a woman in one of the classes I attend who told me about 9-to-90, which I love. It’s a very friendly, enjoyable and calming place. The woman who runs it, Jayne, is a wonderful person who always keeps the classes fun, interesting and fresh, and I’ve met some lovely, friendly people there. I always look forward to Fridays.
The other thing I enjoy doing in my spare time is taking my dogs out for long walks, especially to the park and woods. One day, my 3 year old dog, Skye, gave me the fright of my life while walking through the woods. After trying to steal bread from an unsuspecting family, whereby we then crossed a river to avoid the same family on the way back, Skye then took off into the nearby pond which was full of ducks. Even though I was calling her back for 45 minutes, she would not come, at which point I started panicking. Luckily, out of the blue, a man appeared and asked if I was used to cold water, at which point I said no, so he took off, stripped down to his shorts behind a tree, dived in (very cold) and pulled Skye out of the pond. I’ll be forever grateful to this wonderful stranger.
